Solar PV FAQ&Blogs
A split-phase or single-phase three-wire system is a type of single-phase electric power distribution, only used in Americas Power Grid. It is quite different from China or Europe Grid power systems 230V-380Vac.
Glad to visit SNEC PV expo as every year before, honorable to study there from China big brands of solar inverters, MPPT solar charge controller, solar pumping inverter, storage solar inverter etc. So many brands, so many solar products! But we have to say there is still no innovative and revolutionary solar product...
Basically, inverter converts the DC (Direct Current) power source into AC (Alternating Current). On Grid or Grid Tie inverters are inverters that you can connect directly to the power outlet or Grid. Yes, your house will have two different power sources, and it will not explode. There's a micro-controller inside that synchronizes the generated power to the utility Grid. You cannot do that in regular inverter or Off Grid inverters. If you will connect the Off Grid inverter to the Grid lines, the inverter will be DAMAGED and might cause injuries and fire because it is not designed to sync the generated power to the Grid. Hybrid Off Grid Inverters also known as Grid Tie Inverters with battery backup are simply a combination of On Grid inverter and Off-Grid inverters but with MPPT solar charge controller to charge batteries.
Our MPPT Solar charge controllers 20A12Vdc to 65A 96Vdc were installed in 2016 early at several Indian Ocean islands around Réunion for stand-alone solar power systems, bearing ocean corrective winds and moisture, But running 1.5Year until now without any fault!
And half year before, we upgraded them to 3rd generation with outside-fuses/DC-loading/wider input voltage range/max efficiency!
